How We Work
You’re letting someone into your home while you’re sometimes not there.
These are the things we’d want to know if it were our home
1Are your cleaners background checked?
Yes. Every cleaner is background checked through ADP before training begins, and we re-run that check every twelve months for as long as they’re with us.
Most cleaning companies check once at hire and never again.
We are licensed, insured and bonded, carry $2.5 million in liability coverage, and carry workers compensation on our residential crews. We are BBB Accredited with an A Rating.
Ask us for a certificate of insurance before you book. We’ll send it, no pressure.
2How do you hire your cleaners?
We hire about 2% of applicants. Nobody reaches a client’s home without clearing all seven steps:
- An in-person interview
- Reference checks with prior employers
- A background check through ADP, completed before training starts
- A test clean at our office
- Two weeks of hands-on training with our lead trainer
- A shadow period with an experienced cleaner
- Working alongside an experienced cleaner before taking their own assignments
After that, background checks are re-run annually and crews go through regular quality reevaluations.
3What training do your cleaners receive?
Two weeks of hands-on training with our lead trainer, before anyone is assigned a home of their own. It starts with a test clean at our office and ends with a shadow period alongside an experienced cleaner.
Most people we hire already have cleaning experience. Training is what turns an experienced cleaner into a consistent one. Everyone works against the same written checklist and the same standard operating procedures, so the result doesn’t depend on who shows up that morning.
4Do your cleaners follow a written checklist?
Two of them.
Every cleaner is trained against our written standard checklist, 50 points on a deep clean. That’s what keeps quality consistent from crew to crew. The full list is published on our pricing page, so you can count it yourself.
On top of that, your home gets its own checklist. We build it with you during scheduling, so your crew works from your priorities rather than a generic list. You never have to hand anything to the crew or explain it at the door.
5Will I have the same crew every visit?
Yes. Every client is assigned a crew, and that crew is the one that returns.
They learn your home: your pets, which surfaces need what, where you want attention paid, which door sticks. By the third visit nobody needs to ask.
That isn’t an upgrade or an add-on. It’s how we run recurring service.
6How do you keep quality consistent between visits?
Three things do the work.
- The same assigned crew every visit, so nobody is relearning your home.
- The same written checklist and procedures for every cleaner, so the standard doesn’t move.
- Ongoing quality reevaluations, not just a check at hire.
If something is missed, tell us within 24 hours and we return and re-clean that area at no charge.
7How many cleaners come to my home?
Usually two. We price per cleaner per hour, so two cleaners working together cost about the same as one cleaner taking twice as long, and you get your home back in roughly half the time.
8Do your cleaners speak English?
Yes. All of our crews are bilingual in English and Spanish, so you can talk to your crew in whichever language you prefer.
Our office is bilingual too. Nobody gets handed off to someone who doesn’t understand them.
9How accurate are your estimates?
About 90% of jobs finish within the estimate we gave.
Your estimate is built from square footage, number of bathrooms, the current condition of the home, pets, and any add-ons you choose. It’s calculated against 9,300 homes cleaned in the San Diego area, not a formula.
Before the crew begins, they walk the property. If anything looks meaningfully different from what was described, they stop and call the office, and we call you before any work starts. You either approve the adjusted estimate or tell us to hold at the original quote.
You will never see a bill go past your estimate without a conversation first.
The accuracy runs both ways, though. An estimate is only as good as the description it was built from, so the more detail you give us up front, the closer it lands. The one thing that reliably breaks an estimate is an area added on the day of the visit, because that time was already committed to the rest of your home. Tell us beforehand and we build it in.
10If I'm billed hourly, what stops the crew from working slowly?
This is the fair question to ask about hourly billing, and we’d rather answer it than talk around it.
Four answers, all built into how we operate rather than promised.
- The schedule. A crew usually has three or four cleanings booked in a day. Arriving on time for the next client is a commitment we hold them to, so stretching your job breaks the rest of their day.
- A time cap. Every job has one, based on your estimate. If a crew thinks they may exceed it, they contact the office first, and the office calls you before any extra time is worked.
- How we pay. Crews are paid hourly but rewarded on efficiency and client satisfaction, not hours logged.
- Who we hire. We hire for detail and speed, then train against strict procedures. Experience is the baseline, not the goal.
In practice most jobs land in the middle of the estimate, so that conversation rarely has to happen.
11Can you work to a budget?
Yes. Tell us your ceiling and we’ll cap the service there, then work your priorities first.
You decide what matters most. We don’t stop in a random place and hand you a bill.
12What happens if something gets broken?
Accidents happen. When one does, the crew reports it to us immediately, we take full responsibility, and we talk it through with you before deciding how to make it right. Depending on the item, that means repairing it, replacing it, or crediting your invoice.
We’re bonded and carry $2.5 million in liability coverage, so you’re not relying on goodwill alone.
13What if I'm not happy with the clean?
Tell us within 24 hours and we return and re-clean that area at no charge. No argument.
What this costs
Everything above is why an hourly rate is safe to publish
Here’s the short version of the pricing it supports.
First cleans are hourly, because a home nobody has cleaned yet is genuinely unpredictable. Published estimate ranges run from $205 for a one bedroom up to $520 for a four bedroom, three bath, depending on square footage and condition.
Recurring service is a flat rate, built from what your own first clean actually took. It’s still an average, and we’re honest about that. The difference is that it’s the average condition of your specific home rather than the average home of your size.
You pay after the cleaning, never before. You see the work, then you pay.
Every flat rate has a time budget inside it. To put a flat number on your home, a company has to decide how many hours it should take and what those hours are worth. The difference is whether you get to see it.
